Litters

Update 30th August 2009

All the pups have done really well in the last 7 weeks, all are healthy and growing well.

On Friday they had their first set of innoculations, were micro-chipped and given a check up by our vet. he was really pleased with them and mum.

Over the following weekend they have started to be collected up by their new owners. Four have gone already and another goes tomorrow. Waving goodbye is surprisingly difficult for all of us and the house seems emptier, but it is slowly getting back to some sort of normality.

The remaining pups are very playful and we can give them a lot more individual attention, which is proving destructive to my jumpers!

They are all getting very good at using the newspaper we put down and early reports from their new homes suggest that it is not a fluke as they are continuing to use the paper - so house training may be relatively quick.

As we have only the one dog of breeding age we are not planning to breed again for at least another year. We will, however, keep updating the website with photos of the pups in their new homes as a record of them growing up.

Zoot has proved to be a wonderful caring mum, here she is shortly after whelping, a tired but proud mum with her 11 puppies and a few weeks later patiently feeding all 11 again - we are sure there are only 11 but it is impossible to count them!
